The tough thing about your big day is that it is, well, it’s only one day and everything has to go just right for that one day. OK! Don’t stress, we are here to help you. The right wedding photographer can help preserve the entire event’s happenings, the emotional moments and the good times—forever! One perfect picture can instantly take you back to the happiest day of your life, and one perfect photo album can become your favorite thing to show off to friends.
When it comes to professional photography, most start out by shooting weddings. This can mean wading through a lot of desirables before you find the right fit for you. Below are some simple tips for finding a photographer who will help capture the event exactly how you want to remember it. Remember, if you reach out to us here at Bellport we can help you find one of our approved wedding photographers.
START SEARCHING!
So, you just got engaged—Congratulations! Now, is the time to get started. The truth is, the best professional photographers book their schedules at least a year in advance, so starting the search is one of the first things you should do after choosing your date. However, if your plans call for an out-of-busy-season wedding or a Sunday ceremony, there is a good chance your photographer is available. If you’re having a more uniquely timed wedding, finding the photographer of your dreams in six months is probable.
People You Know?
Good wedding photographers usually have a reputation for great service and can even be very well known in your local area. They will be the easiest to find, that doesn’t mean they’re the best fit for you. Start your search by reaching out for recommendations from your inner circle. Think friends and family who have planned weddings in the last few years, and ask your married friends if you can peruse their photo albums. Look to Social Media pages and professional local websites for samples of work, blog posts and client reviews.
In most cases the other professionals involved in your wedding day support team will have worked with different photographers in the past. Ask for introductions from your wedding planner, your wedding venue (Yes, Bellport Country Club!), caterer, baker, florist or limousine driver—it’s their (and our) business to have such contacts.
